United States, April 2026 — Shazmah Hakim has taken on a new position as Chief Legal Officer of Oak View Group, a leader in the live sports and entertainment industry. Her appointment marks an important leadership move for the organization as it continues to position itself as a positive disruption across sports, live entertainment, and hospitality. With a distinguished legal career spanning hospitality, real estate, development, operations, governance, and strategic transactions, she brings extensive global experience to the role.
Before joining Oak View Group, Shazmah Hakim served as Chief Legal Officer at Remington Hospitality, where she oversaw a team of professionals on all global legal matters relating to hotel development, operations, owner relations, risk management, and corporate governance. In that role, she played a central part in guiding legal strategy across a broad hospitality platform, strengthening her profile as a senior legal leader in the sector.
Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at More Development, where she oversaw all legal matters for the business, including the construction and operations of large-scale international and domestic mixed-use commercial, hospitality, and real estate projects. This role added further depth to her experience across development-driven businesses and complex legal oversight in high-value projects.
Earlier, Shazmah Hakim spent more than seven years at Marriott International as Vice President & Assistant General Counsel / Practice Group Leader, where she led legal affairs relating to the company’s global brands, loyalty program, traditional and digital marketing and sales initiatives, strategic alliances, sponsorships, social media outreach, and revenue management strategy. She also served as lead attorney for Homes & Villas by Marriott International, the company’s premium and luxury short-term rental offering. Before that, she worked as Vice President & Senior Counsel – United Kingdom, Middle East and Africa Lodging Operations at Marriott International, adding broad regional hospitality legal experience to her career.
She also served as Vice President & Senior Counsel at Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation, where she supported the Development and Real Estate Group on transactional matters linked to development initiatives across Asia-Pacific, Australia, the Middle East, and select U.S. markets. Earlier, she held the position of Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Kingdom Hotel Investments, where she was responsible for legal affairs across a global portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts, including hotel development, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, financings, dispute resolution, corporate governance, and risk management.
She began the earlier phase of her legal career as Associate, Corporate / Project Finance Group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where she built foundational expertise in corporate and project finance. Across her career, Shazmah Hakim has developed a strong and distinctive profile at the intersection of legal leadership, hospitality, real estate, strategic transactions, governance, and operational risk.
