Hamburg, Germany, January 2026 – Stefan Ettwig has taken on a new role as Chief Communications Officer / Chief of Staff at TKMS, one of the world’s leading naval companies. In his new position, Ettwig will oversee global communications, brand and marketing strategy, internal communications, leadership communication, change management and strategic corporate messaging to support TKMS’s expanding global defence and maritime technology footprint. pasted
Stefan Ettwig most recently served as Senior Vice President – Communications, Brand & Marketing at TKMS, where he led strategic communications, brand positioning, crisis communication, internal communications and marketing initiatives across global operations, supporting the organisation’s transformation and international growth.
Prior to this, he served in multiple senior leadership roles within TKMS, including Senior Vice President – Communications, Brand & Marketing, Head of Communications, Brand & Marketing, and Head of Communications, building a strong communications governance framework and strengthening the company’s global corporate narrative.
Before joining TKMS, Ettwig spent over thirteen years with thyssenkrupp AG, where he held a series of senior communications leadership roles including Head of Internal Communication, Leadership & Change, Head of Communications – thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, Head of Communications – thyssenkrupp Elevator Europe Africa, and multiple other group communications leadership positions across Materials Services and Marine Systems divisions.
He began his professional journey in journalism and media relations with WAZ Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, later moving into corporate communications leadership across multiple ThyssenKrupp group companies.
