With over two decades of experience spanning digital commerce, omnichannel transformation, e-commerce, category management, business strategy, and P&L leadership, Somani takes on a pivotal role in driving the digital growth agenda of the diversified conglomerate.
In his new position, he will lead the digital commerce strategy across multiple business verticals within Godrej Enterprises Group, focusing on scaling direct-to-consumer (D2C) capabilities, omnichannel integration, marketplace expansion, customer experience enhancement, and digital transformation initiatives. He is also responsible for strengthening digitally influenced sales, building agile cross-functional teams, and driving technology-led growth through partnerships with leading global platforms.
Prior to this elevation, Somani served as AVP | Group Head – Digital Commerce at Godrej Enterprises Group, where he successfully expanded the D2C model across multiple businesses, led enterprise-wide omnichannel initiatives, and spearheaded digital transformation programs that significantly enhanced online business performance.
Earlier, he held the position of Head – Ecommerce & Omnichannel at Godrej Interio, where he played a key role in scaling the company’s online and omnichannel business. During his tenure, he led several industry-first initiatives, strengthened marketplace partnerships, enhanced customer experience, and drove growth across digital channels.
Before joining the Godrej Group, Somani spent over seven years with Tata CLiQ, where he held multiple leadership positions including Business Head – Large/Small Appliances & TVs, Head – Appliances & TV / Entertainment, and Category Manager – Electronics. He was responsible for category growth, strategic partnerships, business development, digital marketing, customer experience, and revenue optimization across key consumer categories.
His earlier career includes leadership roles at Videocon Consumer Durables, VDC Technologies Spa, Videocon Industries, and TATA Communications, where he gained extensive experience in e-commerce, product management, supply chain operations, international business development, and technology-driven transformation.
