Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2025 – Surendra Kumar Polavarapu has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at Softgel Healthcare Private Limited, a leading provider of outsourcing solutions to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. In his new role, Surendra will be responsible for steering the company’s strategic direction, expanding global capabilities, and strengthening operational excellence to meet evolving industry demands.
Most recently, Surendra served as EVP & Head – Global Formulation Operations at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, where he led complex manufacturing operations and drove supply chain and production efficiencies across international markets. His leadership enabled greater alignment of operational objectives with Glenmark’s growth strategy.
Previously, he was Global Manufacturing Head at Strides, where he spearheaded global initiatives across multiple facilities, overseeing quality, cost, and compliance functions across regulated markets. His hands-on leadership helped deliver scalable manufacturing capacity and global expansion.
Surendra brings over six years of extensive leadership experience from the Zydus Group, where he held key roles including Senior Vice President and Head of Manufacturing Clusters. He played a pivotal role in operational consolidation, site leadership, and regulatory preparedness across India-based facilities serving global markets.
His global exposure is further enriched through senior technical leadership roles at Mylan Laboratories, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories JV in China, and STADA in Beijing, where he contributed to cross-border manufacturing excellence and regulatory compliance. With more than two decades of industry experience, including early stints at Sun Pharma, Abbott, and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Surendra brings unmatched depth in pharmaceutical operations, innovation, and transformation.
