Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan – October 2024 – Syed Aurangzeb Hashimi has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer at DHL Global Forwarding. In his new role, Syed will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting growth initiatives across the Pakistan region. His appointment aligns with DHL Global Forwarding’s commitment to enhancing its financial operations and supporting strategic business objectives.
Before joining DHL Global Forwarding, Syed served as Financial Controller at DP World, where he played a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, tax planning, and forecasting. His expertise contributed to improved financial processes, people management, and strategic business planning during his tenure.
Earlier, Syed held the position of Head of Financial Control & Taxation at Lucky Motor Corporation Limited (formerly KIA Lucky Motors Pakistan Limited). He led initiatives related to tax compliance, financial control, and strategic tax planning, managing a diverse set of financial functions that aligned with corporate objectives and industry requirements. His strong commercial awareness and hands-on approach were instrumental in driving financial transformations.
Syed’s experience also includes his tenure at Procter & Gamble as Head of Tax / Associate Finance Manager. His responsibilities encompassed corporate tax planning, international tax compliance, and strategic advisory, which were pivotal in optimizing the company’s tax functions and financial planning.
Beginning his career at A.F. Ferguson & Co. (a member firm of PwC), Syed gained experience in tax audits, advisory services, and compliance management. His time at Grant Thornton Pakistan as an Audit Supervisor further solidified his foundation in assurance engagements, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
