Tristan Hall Promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer at OhioHealth

Columbus, Ohio, United States, October 2024 – OhioHealth has announced the promotion of Tristan Hall to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In his expanded role, Tristan will be responsible for overseeing the entire human resources strategy and operations across OhioHealth’s 35,000 associates, spanning 17 hospitals and over 350 ambulatory sites. His leadership will be integral in continuing to foster a culture of inclusion, engagement, and innovation across the healthcare network.

Tristan joined OhioHealth in August 2022 as Vice President of Human Resources, where he led HR strategy, business partnerships, labor relations, and HRIS management. With his extensive experience in HR leadership, Tristan played a key role in guiding OhioHealth’s strategic HR initiatives across the corporate services and clinical enterprises, ensuring optimal performance and a people-centered culture.

Before OhioHealth, Tristan served as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for SYGMA Network, a subsidiary of Sysco, where he led HR strategies for a $8 billion revenue company. He focused on improving workplace culture, retention, and inclusion across the national food distribution network. Tristan also brings experience from his time as a Senior Director of Human Resources at OhioHealth, where he was responsible for HR leadership at the system’s central Ohio hospitals and medical campuses.

Tristan is also an Adjunct Professor at Franklin University, where he teaches undergraduate courses in Public Administration, focusing on ethics, personnel management, and strategic planning.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
