Ypsilanti, Michigan, August 2024 – LuxWall, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Al Robinson as the company’s new Chief People Officer. In his new role, Robinson will be responsible for driving the company’s human resources strategy, fostering a culture of excellence, and supporting the growth of LuxWall’s innovative glass solutions that significantly reduce carbon emissions.
Al Robinson joins LuxWall with an extensive background in human resources, having most recently served as Sr. Director of Human Resources – Americas – Tech Sector at SYNCREON. Over his seven-year tenure at SYNCREON, Robinson was instrumental in overseeing the development, implementation, and management of HR functions across the Americas, including employee relations, performance management, and recruitment. His role as a strategic partner within the organizational leadership was key in optimizing the use of human capital to drive business success.
Before his role at SYNCREON, Robinson held several leadership positions at AAM – American Axle & Manufacturing. As Divisional HR/Labor Relations Manager, he managed all human resource and labor relations activities for the Driveline Organization, overseeing a workforce of over 7,000 associates. Robinson played a crucial role in consulting with employees and management on HR-related issues, leading contract negotiations, and managing complex labor relations activities, ensuring operational continuity in a 24/7 production environment.
Earlier in his career at AAM, Robinson served as Plant Manager, where he was responsible for directing the manufacturing and maintenance operations of a plant with annual revenues exceeding $130 million. He successfully enhanced the plant culture to be more proactive and performance-oriented, meeting and exceeding business objectives, production schedules, and financial targets.
Robinson’s career journey also includes roles as Personnel Director and Operations Manager at AAM, where he further honed his skills in human resources, labor relations, and operational management.
