GURUGRAM, HARYANA, INDIA, July 2026 — InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., the parent company of IndiGo, has appointed Kanwal Jeet Singh Bakshi as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective July 20, 2026. He succeeds Sukhjit S. Pasricha, who has resigned after serving the airline for more than eight years and will be relieved from his responsibilities on July 19. The appointment was disclosed by the company through a regulatory filing and comes as IndiGo continues to strengthen its leadership team to support its ambitious expansion plans.
Bakshi joins IndiGo from InterGlobe Enterprises, the promoter group of InterGlobe Aviation, where he currently serves as Group Head – Human Resources. In his new role, he will lead the airline’s global people agenda, overseeing talent strategy, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, culture, workforce planning, and human capital transformation as IndiGo continues to expand its domestic and international operations.
Prior to assuming this role, Bakshi led the human resources function at InterGlobe Enterprises, driving strategic HR initiatives across the group and supporting organizational transformation. Recognized as a seasoned HR leader with more than three decades of experience, he has built expertise in talent management, leadership capability building, succession planning, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and large-scale people transformation. His appointment is expected to further strengthen IndiGo’s people-first culture while supporting the airline’s next phase of sustainable growth.
Before joining InterGlobe Enterprises as Group Head – Human Resources, Bakshi previously held senior HR leadership roles at IndiGo, where he contributed to the airline’s people practices during an earlier phase of growth.
Earlier, he served in leadership positions at The Oberoi Group, where he played a significant role in developing HR strategies for one of India’s leading hospitality organizations.
Prior to that, he worked with Bharti Airtel, contributing to HR leadership initiatives during the telecom company’s rapid expansion.
His earlier career also includes leadership assignments with Usha India Ltd. and HMT Ltd., providing him with extensive cross-industry exposure across manufacturing, consumer products, hospitality, telecommunications, and aviation.
Kanwal Jeet Singh Bakshi holds a postgraduate qualification in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations from XLRI Jamshedpur. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Physics, combining strong academic foundations with over three decades of human resources leadership experience.
Bakshi’s appointment comes at a strategically important time for IndiGo as the airline accelerates international expansion, inducts new aircraft, and scales its workforce. His deep experience in organizational transformation, leadership development, talent strategy, and cultural integration is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening leadership capability, enhancing employee experience, and supporting IndiGo’s long-term business growth through a robust people strategy.
