Hamburg, Germany, July 2026 — Statista has promoted Laura Schüler-Ottens to the role of Head of PR & Communications. In her new position, she will lead the company’s global external communications, including public relations, brand and corporate communications, and events, while driving communication strategies across the EMEA, Americas and APAC regions.
Laura has built her career at Statista over the past one and a half years, progressing through a series of increasingly senior communications leadership roles. Prior to her promotion, she served as Head of Corporate Communications for around four months, following more than one year as Team Lead – Corporate Communications. During her tenure, she has led corporate communications, media relations, change communications, executive positioning, crisis communications and global event initiatives, contributing to the company’s international communications strategy and brand visibility.
Before joining Statista, Laura spent approximately three and a half years with fischerAppelt, where she advanced through multiple leadership roles including Head of Media Relations, Competence Lead – Media Relations (FMCG & Retail) and Senior Manager – PR & Media Relations. She was responsible for strategic communications, media relations, client advisory, team leadership and corporate reputation management across a broad portfolio of consumer and business brands.
Earlier, Laura worked with Edelman Deutschland for nearly two years, progressing from Junior Media Relations Specialist to Media Relations Specialist. During this period, she advised clients on strategic media relations, brand communications, executive positioning and international communication campaigns across multiple European markets.
Prior to Edelman, she spent nearly two years at Schoeller & von Rehlingen Public Relations GmbH, where she began her professional career in public relations, progressing from Public Relations Trainee to Junior Public Relations Consultant while gaining experience in media relations, event communications and client advisory.
Earlier in her career, Laura also completed communications internships with PRESS FACTORY GmbH and Schoeller & von Rehlingen Public Relations GmbH, building an early foundation in public relations and media communications.
