Gurugram, Haryana, India, June 2026 — Nestlé India has elevated Varinder Mittal to the role of Head: Supply Chain – Foods, entrusting him with leadership of the end-to-end supply chain for the company’s largest business vertical.
In his new role, Varinder will oversee factory operations, demand and supply planning, production planning, logistics, warehousing, and distribution for Nestlé’s Foods business. His responsibilities span a large and complex network that includes 250 SKUs, 29 distribution centres, four hubs, nine manufacturing locations, more than 2,200 customers across traditional and modern trade channels, annual volumes of approximately 450,000 tonnes, and a business valued at around ₹8,000 crore. He has also been instrumental in building a touchless planning ecosystem leveraging advanced forecasting tools, AI-enabled supply planning, and automated replenishment capabilities.
Varinder has been associated with Nestlé for more than 15 years, progressing through a series of increasingly significant leadership roles across procurement, planning, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain operations. Prior to his latest elevation, he served as Head Supply Chain – Chocolates, Purina Petcare and Breakfast & Cereals, where he led supply chain strategy and execution across multiple complex categories. During this period, he drove connected planning initiatives, enhanced customer service levels, and strengthened integrated planning capabilities.
Earlier, he was Head – Co-Manufacturing Supply Chain Operations, leading end-to-end planning, warehousing, logistics, exports, and distribution across multiple product categories and manufacturing partners throughout India. He also served as Head – Factory Supply Chain Operations at Nestlé’s Bicholim factory in Goa, where he managed supply chain operations supporting one of the company’s largest manufacturing facilities.
His earlier Nestlé journey included leadership positions in Category Demand & Supply Planning, Supply Planning for Nutrition, Dairy and Confectionery, and Strategic Procurement, where he contributed to demand planning excellence, inventory optimization, procurement transformation, and large-scale manufacturing expansion projects across India and South Asia.
Before joining Nestlé, Varinder worked with Mahindra & Mahindra Auto Division, where he led supplier development, sourcing, procurement, and value engineering initiatives for major vehicle platforms. He began his professional career with New Holland Tractors as an Engineer.
An alumnus of SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Varinder combines deep expertise in supply chain transformation, procurement, planning, manufacturing operations, logistics, and digital innovation. His elevation reflects Nestlé’s confidence in his ability to further strengthen operational excellence and support the continued growth of its Foods business.
