Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 2024 – Sachin Gupte has taken on the role of Managing Director & Global HR Head, Operations & Global Business Services (GBS) at Standard Chartered.
In this position, Sachin will oversee the HR function globally for Standard Chartered’s Operations and GBS, managing a network of technology and operations hubs across China, India, Malaysia, Poland, and the Philippines. With a workforce of 35,000 employees, Sachin will be driving organizational design, leadership team building, and transformative HR initiatives to enhance the Bank’s global business functions and operational excellence.
Sachin has been with Standard Chartered for over 21 years, serving in several key leadership roles within the HR function. Prior to his current role, he served as Managing Director & Global Head HR – Global Business Services and TTO Regions, where he led the HR function for global business services across multiple locations, focusing on strategic HR initiatives and leadership development for over 35,000 employees.
Before that, Sachin worked as Senior Manager, HR at Sandvik, where he led HR operations in Pune, India, contributing to the company’s talent development and operational HR strategies. Sachin’s extensive career in HR leadership, coupled with his experience in multiple global markets, has positioned him as a key driver of transformation in Standard Chartered’s global operations.
