Pune District, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — Subhabrata Ghosh has started a new position as Chief Operating Officer at Tata AutoComp Gotion Green Energy Solutions. In this role, he is overseeing business for a $0.5 billion lithium battery business, with responsibility across P&L management, operations, and business development. He is also directing cross-functional teams in research and development to support innovative product launches while managing purchasing and operational strategies aimed at improving efficiency and profitability.
Before joining Tata AutoComp Gotion Green Energy Solutions, Subhabrata Ghosh served at Geon, where he most recently held the role of Chief Operating Officer after serving as President. During his tenure there, he led key areas including P&L, plant operations, capex, purchase, finance, and HR. His work covered profit center management, EBITDA, strategy implementation, cost control, R&D, new product introduction, greenfield projects, customer development across 2W, 3W, and 4W segments, and business development in BESS for grid, C&I, and home inverter segments. He also handled lithium-ion battery manufacturing, electric vehicle manufacturing, lean tools, SAP, TPM, union management, supplier negotiations, technology transfer, and firmware development.
Prior to that, he was Plant Business Head at Meritor, where he headed the profit center and led plant operations, balance sheet management, P&L, cost control, R&D, NPI processes, capex, and long- and short-term strategy. In that assignment, he also handled sales budgeting, OEM customer acquisition across vehicle categories, international business development, negotiation, and plant management across machining, sheet metal, brake, and axle manufacturing operations. This phase of his career further strengthened his profile in manufacturing leadership, operational excellence, and strategic expansion.
Earlier, Subhabrata Ghosh served as Project Head, Electric Vehicle Business at Singapore Electric Vehicles, where he led profit center operations, plant operations, P&L, business expansion, capex, project coordination, and OEM customer acquisition. His responsibilities also covered electric vehicle manufacturing, lean manufacturing, world-class quality processes, safety standards, Industry 4.0, and end-to-end operational execution. Before that, he spent more than eight years at Tata Motors as Operation Head (Vehicle Assembly), building significant experience across vehicle assembly, manufacturing systems, lean tools, quality, safety, statutory processes, and plant operations.
He began his earlier industrial journey at Steel Strips Wheels Limited as Assistant Manager (Utility & Project Management), where he worked on setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for cars, buses, and commercial vehicles in line with product quality, safety standards, budgets, and timelines. Across his career, Subhabrata Ghosh has built deep leadership experience in operations, EV manufacturing, lithium-ion battery systems, P&L management, business expansion, supply chain, quality, plant management, and strategic growth.
Subhabrata Ghosh holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology and is also pursuing a CXO Certification in Business Administration and Management with AI from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. His academic grounding, combined with his strong operational and strategic leadership experience, positions him well for this important role in the evolving EV battery and green mobility ecosystem.
