Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, April 2026 — Sujatha Rajagopalan has been appointed as Senior Director – Business Development at Aragen Life Sciences, bringing more than two decades of experience across drug discovery, business development, licensing, alliance management, project leadership, and life sciences partnerships.
In her new role at Aragen Life Sciences, Sujatha Rajagopalan will focus on strengthening strategic partnerships, advancing alliance management initiatives, and driving business growth across global markets in the life sciences sector. Her appointment adds strong scientific and commercial depth to Aragen’s integrated drug discovery and business development capabilities.
Before joining Aragen Life Sciences, Sujatha served as Director – Business Development and Head – Alliance Management at Aurigene Oncology Limited, where she was involved in forging strategic alliances and driving business development. In this role, she combined her scientific and commercial expertise to identify collaborative opportunities aligned with the company’s mission of advancing cancer treatment through innovation.
Earlier at Aurigene Oncology Limited, Sujatha held roles including Associate Director – Business Development and Head – Alliance Management and Associate Director – Business Development, Licensing and Alliance Management. Her responsibilities covered business development, licensing, strategic alliances, and alliance management, supporting collaborative opportunities in drug discovery and oncology innovation.
Prior to Aurigene Oncology, Sujatha spent more than 18 years with Aurigene Discovery Technologies, where she moved from research-focused roles into business development and alliance management. She served as Associate Director – Business Development, Licensing & Alliance Management, Senior Manager – Business Development and Head – Project Management, Senior Group Leader I, Group Leader II, Group Leader I, Senior Scientist, Scientist, and Research Associate.
During her long tenure with Aurigene Discovery Technologies, Sujatha contributed across the drug discovery lifecycle and led biology workstreams for multiple collaboration programs. Her work included collaboration programs with H3 Biomedicine, Novartis, and the University of Malaya, reflecting her strong scientific foundation in discovery research, oncology, project management, and collaborative drug development.
Sujatha began her career in research and product-focused roles, including her stint as Junior Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science, where she worked on DNA microarray and validation of regulated genes. Earlier, she worked as Product Executive at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, where she handled product management, training of medical representatives, and editorial responsibilities for an in-house magazine.
With her combined experience across research, drug discovery, strategic alliances, licensing, project management, and business development, Sujatha Rajagopalan brings a well-rounded perspective to her new leadership role at Aragen Life Sciences.
