New York, New York, United States, May 2026 – Pagaya has announced the appointment of Terry O’Neil as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In this role, Terry will lead the expansion of Pagaya’s enterprise commercial function, driving deeper product adoption, strengthening strategic partnerships, and further positioning Pagaya as a premier technology partner for major U.S. consumer lenders.
The appointment comes at a significant stage in Pagaya’s growth journey as the company continues leveraging artificial intelligence to help financial institutions expand access to credit and enhance customer acquisition capabilities. Welcoming Terry to the leadership team, Sanjiv Das, President of Pagaya, highlighted his extensive expertise across banking, payments, partnerships, consumer lending, and growth strategy, noting that his leadership will be instrumental as Pagaya deepens its relationships with financial institutions and accelerates commercial expansion.
Prior to joining Pagaya, Terry spent more than 25 years with Citi, where he held a series of senior leadership roles across consumer banking, payments, partnerships, product management, marketing, analytics, and digital transformation. Most recently, he served as Managing Director – Head of Embedded Payments and Strategic Fintech Partnerships, leading Citi’s point-of-sale financing business while developing strategic relationships with fintech innovators across lending, payments, and digital banking. He was responsible for product strategy, user experience, merchant capabilities, sales, marketing, and overall business growth.
Earlier, Terry served as Managing Director – Head of Embedded Payments and Strategic Growth, where he drove the transformation of Citi’s B2B2C financing capabilities through new products, partnerships, customer experiences, and merchant solutions. He also served as Chief Marketing Officer, Citi Retail Services, overseeing partner marketing, product strategy, loyalty, customer engagement, digital initiatives, and business growth across one of North America’s largest private-label and co-branded card businesses serving millions of customers.
During his distinguished Citi career, Terry also held leadership roles including Head of Cobrand Portfolio, Product Marketing and Analytics, Head of Co-Brand Products and Strategic Marketing, Head of Healthcare Payments, Head of Branded Cards Portfolio, and Head of Affluent Segment Portfolio. Throughout these roles, he successfully led major product innovations, multi-billion-dollar partnerships, digital transformation initiatives, loyalty programs, healthcare payment solutions, and strategic growth programs that significantly enhanced revenue, customer engagement, and market share. His contributions earned industry recognition, including selection by The American Banker as a Top Innovator and recognition through the Edison Awards.
Before Citi, Terry held senior leadership positions with Visa, where he managed strategic merchant partnerships, co-branded card programs, and large-scale alliance initiatives. His work involved developing mutually beneficial relationships between financial institutions, merchants, and payment networks, helping drive significant transaction growth and commercial value creation.
Terry holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Commercial Banking and Finance from Hofstra University. His extensive experience across banking, payments, fintech partnerships, consumer lending, digital transformation, and commercial growth positions him strongly to support Pagaya’s next phase of expansion and innovation.
