California, United States, December 2024 – Tim Hwang has been named Vice President, Human Resources at Vir Biotechnology, Inc., a pioneering immunology company. In this role, Tim will lead HR strategies and initiatives, shaping organizational design, talent acquisition, and employee development to align with Vir’s mission of addressing unmet patient needs through transformative medicines.
Tim brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has been with Vir Biotechnology, Inc. since December 2021, most recently serving as Sr. Director, Global HR Business Partner. In this capacity, he led the HR business partner function, supporting key C-suite leaders and overseeing talent acquisition strategies to hire top-tier talent for Vir.

Before joining Vir, Tim was the Global Human Resources Director at 10x Genomics, where he managed a global team supporting worldwide sales, marketing, and customer excellence functions. He advised the Chief Commercial Officer on workforce strategy and organizational culture initiatives.
Prior to that, Tim spent over three years at Amgen as a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner, supporting critical teams in areas such as Sales, Field Excellence, and Process Development. His strategic insights were instrumental in driving workforce and leadership initiatives across Amgen’s Massachusetts and California operations.
Tim also held the position of Human Resources Business Partner at Novartis, where he worked closely with research teams, and earlier in his career, he served in various HR leadership roles at GE and PepsiCo, building expertise in talent management and organizational design.
