Davidson, North Carolina, United States, July 2026 — Donny Simmons has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Trane Technologies, effective July 1, 2026. Simmons is a seasoned business and operations leader with over 25 years of experience with the company and its legacy businesses. In his expanded role, he will oversee Trane Technologies’ regional business units and operations, with a focus on strengthening alignment, accelerating execution, and supporting the company’s next phase of growth.
Prior to this appointment, Simmons served as Group President, Americas at Trane Technologies, where he led the company’s Americas business with a focus on operational performance, commercial growth, customer engagement, and strategic execution. Earlier, he served as President, Commercial HVAC Americas, contributing to the growth and performance of the company’s commercial HVAC business.
Before Trane Technologies, Simmons held several leadership roles at Ingersoll Rand, including President – Industrial Fluid Management, Material Handling, and Power Tools, where he carried full P&L responsibility for three global strategic business units. He also served as Vice President at Ingersoll Rand, holding multiple finance, operations, sales, and general management responsibilities across Thermo King, Hussmann, Trane Commercial, and Climate Solutions.
Earlier in his career, Simmons worked with Owens Corning in various finance and operations roles, building a strong foundation in business operations, financial leadership, and manufacturing performance.
Simmons also serves as an Outside Board Director at Andersen Corporation.With his deep understanding of Trane Technologies’ businesses, strategic vision, and strong track record in operational excellence, Simmons is expected to play a key role in advancing the company’s growth strategy and sustainable innovation agenda.
