India, August 2026 — Sheela Foam Limited has appointed Avantika Singh Gautam as Director, bringing to the Board a distinctive combination of experience across journalism, media, public service, education, strategy, and global affairs.
Avantika brings more than 20 years of professional experience, including a distinguished career as a broadcast journalist, senior news anchor, producer, and consulting editor. She has worked with leading media organizations including India Today Group and CNN-News18, where she covered major national and international developments and built a reputation for thoughtful editorial judgment, clarity of communication, and a nuanced understanding of social, political, and cultural issues.
Her association with India Today spans multiple phases of her career. As Senior Producer and Prime Time Anchor, she reported on and anchored coverage of significant events including Indian elections, Union Budgets, geopolitical developments, terror attacks, international elections, and major national debates. She later returned as a Consulting Senior Anchor and Journalist, becoming a prominent face of the channel’s daily broadcast and continuing to cover high-impact stories and public affairs.
Avantika also spent four years with Teach For India, first as a Fellow and subsequently as Strategy, Operations and Alumni Manager. In these roles, she contributed to education equity initiatives, led expansion strategy and execution for the Delhi region, developed alumni engagement programs, and supported the organization’s broader social-impact agenda.
More recently, she served as Senior Anchor and Consulting Editor at CNN-News18. Alongside her professional experience, Avantika has pursued advanced studies in global leadership and communication. She has undertaken the Persuasive Communication programme at Harvard Kennedy School and pursued a Master’s degree in International/Global Studies at The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Her appointment brings an external perspective shaped by experience across media, education, society, and global affairs, complementing Sheela Foam’s focus on building a future-facing and purpose-led organization.
