Veteran oil & gas leader with 38 years at IndianOil brings deep operational, HSE, and LPG-distribution expertise to help accelerate FuelBuddy’s next phase of growth in India
New Delhi, Delhi, India, August 2026 — FuelBuddy, India’s largest doorstep fuel delivery company, today announced the appointment of Mr. Jagdeep Kumar Rana as Managing Director – India, to lead the company’s India business. The appointment marks a significant step in FuelBuddy’s strategy to deepen its market leadership and scale its fuel-delivery and energy-distribution network across India, even as the company continues to expand its operations internationally across the UAE and Africa.
Mr. Rana joins FuelBuddy after a distinguished 38-year career at IndianOil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), where he most recently served as Executive Director (Northern Region) for IndianOil’s Northern Region, a role in which he held strategic oversight of 168 operational locations across 10 states. Over his career, he has led LPG operations, plant management, engineering, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions at the corporate, state, and regional levels, including postings as Chief General Manager (HSE) at IndianOil’s Corporate Office, General Manager IC (LPG) for Punjab, Chief General Manager (LPG) for Rajasthan, and Chief General Manager (Planning & ES) for Punjab.
A civil engineering graduate of the Regional Engineering College (REC), Kurukshetra, and an alumnus of the Management Education Programme at IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Rana has been closely associated with several nationally significant initiatives during his tenure at IndianOil — including ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply to defence forces opecrating in forward areas of Northern India in support of “Operation Sindoor,” and driving the rollout of the PM Ujjwala Yojana in Punjab. He has also been credited with commissioning and digitising several of IndianOil’s flagship bottling plants, including early implementations of SAP and Indsoft within the Marketing Division.
At FuelBuddy, Mr. Rana will be working to strengthen supply chain efficiency, safety standards, and customer-facing operations as the company continues to expand its doorstep diesel and fuel-management services for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients across the country.
“IndianOil gave me 38 remarkable years and a ringside view of how fuel reaches every corner of this country from remote defence outposts to the last household under Ujjwala Yojana. FuelBuddy is reimagining that same last-mile promise for a digital age. I am excited to bring my experience in operations, safety, and large-scale distribution to a company that is redefining how India fuels its businesses, and I look forward to helping build the next chapter of FuelBuddy’s India growth story.” – Jagdeep Kumar Rana, Managing Director – India, FuelBuddy
“Jagdeep brings a rare combination of scale, safety rigour, and on-ground operational depth that few leaders in the energy sector can match. Over nearly four decades at IndianOil, he built and ran some of the country’s most complex fuel-distribution operations, and his safety-first, digitally enabled approach is exactly what our business needs at this stage of its growth. As we deepen our footprint across India and continue to expand internationally, I am confident that Jagdeep’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping the next chapter of FuelBuddy’s growth story.” – Adnan Kidwai, Co-Founder, FuelBuddy
