New Delhi, India, August 2026 — Bodhi Thakur has joined Hyundai Motor Company to lead Global Corporate and Internal Communications, bringing more than 20 years of communications and brand leadership experience spanning the automotive, technology and enterprise SaaS sectors. His career encompasses global corporate communications, brand storytelling, product and technology communications, executive counsel, reputation management and stakeholder engagement across the United States, Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining Hyundai Motor Company, Thakur served as Global Head of Brand & Storytelling at Sirion, an AI-native enterprise platform, where he led the company’s global brand and storytelling agenda. His mandate centered on shaping narratives around AI, contracts, trust and commercial intelligence for enterprise audiences.
Previously, Thakur spent more than 15 years with WPP, including over seven years as Senior Vice President/WPP-Ford Electric Vehicle Lead in the United States. In that role, he provided strategic communications leadership and senior counsel on Ford’s electric vehicle agenda, directed a global multi-agency function, advised C-suite executives and developed integrated communications strategies. His work covered media, employees, dealers, influencers, customers and other stakeholders, alongside crisis communications and EV-focused brand initiatives. Earlier, as Senior Director, Product Communications Lead for Ford of Europe, he led regional product communications strategies spanning more than 20 markets. He also served as Director, Technology and Safety Communications Lead for Ford Asia Pacific, establishing teams across nine key markets and driving technology and safety communications initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Thakur worked with Edelman, where he helped establish its technology team for North India and worked on communications mandates for technology and professional-services brands. He began his communications career with Burson-Marsteller, progressing from trainee and associate positions to managerial and senior management responsibilities. During this period, he developed communications strategies and campaigns for global technology brands, building the foundation for a career that subsequently expanded across markets and continents.
Thakur holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from Infinity Business School, completed between 2002 and 2004. His combination of global automotive communications, technology storytelling, executive advisory and enterprise brand experience brings a broad communications perspective to Hyundai as the company advances its positioning across mobility, electrification, sustainability and technology.
