Amstelveen, Netherlands, May 2026 — NextPharma has appointed Monica Mauri as Chief People Officer (CPO), strengthening its executive leadership as the company continues to develop its European pharmaceutical manufacturing and development platform. A seasoned international HR executive, Mauri brings more than three decades of experience across human resources, organizational transformation, talent management, M&A integration, rewards, culture and change management.
In her new role, Mauri will lead NextPharma’s people agenda, working with leadership, HR colleagues and teams across the organization to shape its HR vision, mission and roadmap for the years ahead. During her initial months, she is visiting NextPharma sites and engaging with employees and HR teams across the business. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes cooperation, trust, continuous learning and the role of people in driving organizational success.
Prior to joining NextPharma, Mauri spent nearly six years as Chief Human Resources Officer at ERIKS, where she was part of the Management Board and supported the organization through digital transformation, growth and profitability initiatives. Her tenure included leadership restructuring, talent development, cultural transformation and DE&I initiatives, as well as navigating major organizational changes including the transition to virtual and subsequently hybrid working.
Earlier, Mauri held senior HR leadership positions at Staples Solutions and Staples Europe. As VP, Head of HR at Staples Solutions, she helped establish the people strategy for the business following its acquisition, covering culture, organizational priorities, talent, HR technology and transformation. Previously, as VP, Head of HR Europe at Staples, she directed a 110+ member HR organization supporting approximately 10,000 employees across 17 countries and played a key role in the company’s European business transformation.
Mauri also spent more than a decade with Randstad, including serving as Human Resources Director for Randstad Italia and subsequently holding international leadership responsibilities across HR business partnering, rewards and performance management, organizational development, change and M&A. Her experience included HR integration for major acquisitions and the development of global rewards, mobility, talent and engagement frameworks. She began her career in HR consulting with Mercer-Tesi. A social and occupational psychology graduate, Mauri has also completed executive programs at INSEAD, Harvard University, IMD, Rotterdam School of Management and SDA Bocconi.
