Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2026 — ABB has promoted Rangaswamy R to Chief Financial Officer of ABB Global Industries and Services (GISPL), marking a significant leadership progression during his more than nine-year journey with the global technology company.
In his new role as Chief Financial Officer, Rangaswamy brings extensive experience across business controlling, financial planning, project finance, risk management, compliance and accounting. His promotion follows several finance leadership assignments within ABB, where he has worked closely with business and operational teams on financial performance, forecasting, internal controls and strategic decision-making.
Prior to the CFO appointment, Rangaswamy served as Business Controller – India Operations Center (Industrial Automation) from 2021. Earlier, he was Division Controller – Process Industries, where his responsibilities included partnering with business leadership on strategy, monitoring market and customer developments, driving business KPIs, managing risks, budgeting, forecasting and strengthening the internal control framework. He also served as Project Business Controller at ABB, overseeing project financial performance, margins, cash flows, commercial exposure, currency and tax risks, and financial forecasting.
Before joining ABB in 2017, Rangaswamy worked with Honeywell as Financial Controller, where he was responsible for US GAAP accounting, financial compliance, audits, finance operations and the financial integration of acquired companies. He previously spent three years with Misys as Financial Accountant, managing Indian GAAP accounts, statutory and tax requirements, MIS reporting and contributing to the implementation of the NetSuite ERP platform. He began his professional journey with Mohan & Sridhar, Chartered Accountants, progressing from an internship to Audit Manager.
Complementing his finance leadership experience, Rangaswamy completed the Chief Financial Officer Program in Strategic Finance at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in January 2026. His progression to CFO reflects a career spanning financial control, governance, business partnering, project finance and strategic finance across technology and industrial organizations.
