Singapore, July 2026 — Abhay Shah has taken on the role of Chief Investment Officer at Shizuoka Gas Asia. In his new position, he will lead the company’s investment strategy across Southeast Asia, driving opportunities in energy, renewable energy, and strategic partnerships while supporting the organization’s long-term growth and regional expansion.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sector, Abhay brings deep expertise in investment management, business development, project finance, power generation, renewable energy, and energy transition. Throughout his career, he has successfully led complex investments and large-scale infrastructure projects across Asia Pacific, covering conventional and renewable power, LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, sustainable aviation fuel, and water infrastructure.
Prior to joining Shizuoka Gas Asia, Abhay spent over seven years with Marubeni Asian Power Singapore (Marubeni Corporation), where he most recently served as Senior Consultant supporting strategic markets, projects, and investment opportunities. Earlier, as Executive Vice President – Business Development, he led business development and investment activities across the Asia Pacific region, overseeing the complete investment lifecycle from project origination and due diligence to financing, acquisitions, divestments, and stakeholder management. During his tenure, he also served as Managing Director and Board Member of Feni Solar Power Company Ltd., as well as Board Member of Omon II Power LLC in Vietnam, contributing to the development of large-scale renewable and gas-to-power projects.
Earlier in his career, Abhay served as Head of Business (Project) Development at Asia Power Development Platform, a joint venture between Macquarie Capital and STEAG, where he led project development across Southeast Asia. He also held senior leadership positions at APR Energy, Wärtsilä Singapore, Ingersoll Rand India, and Wärtsilä India Ltd., steadily progressing from a trainee engineer to leadership roles spanning technical operations, business development, commercial strategy, customer engagement, and investment-led growth across the global power sector.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Abhay has been an active Member of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) since 2022, reflecting his commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and supporting the region’s clean energy transition.
