Mary K. Appointed as Head of People & Culture at Avweld Australasia

Laverton North, Victoria, Australia, October 2024 – Avweld Australasia has appointed Mary K. as the new Head of People & Culture. In this role, Mary will be responsible for driving the company’s human resources strategies and managing the organizational culture, talent acquisition, and workforce development initiatives. Her appointment comes after nearly two years of service with Avweld, where she led significant HR transformations.

Before taking on her new role, Mary K. served as the Human Resources & Safety Systems Manager at Avweld Australasia for almost two years. In this capacity, she was responsible for aligning the company’s HR and safety initiatives with its business objectives, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and improving workplace safety across various projects.

Prior to her time at Avweld, Mary was the National Human Resources Manager at Wallenius Wilhelmsen for over seven months. In this position, she managed HR strategies and employee relations for the company’s operations across Australia, focusing on organizational development and talent acquisition.

Mary also served as a Human Resources Business Partner at Incitec Pivot Limited, where she supported the company’s Geelong operations for over two years. Her role involved managing workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership development for the organization’s diverse operations in the resources and agricultural sectors.

Earlier in her career, Mary held the position of Head of Human Resources at Baron Forge Group, a national business specializing in commercial tiling and stonemasonry. In this role, she led a team responsible for recruitment, employee development, and HR operations for over 1,000 employees, contributing to the successful completion of numerous high-profile construction projects across Australia.
