Atlanta, Georgia, United States, August 2026— Raven James has been appointed Director of Human Resources at Secretariat, bringing extensive experience across HR leadership, talent strategy, leadership development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, and organizational effectiveness.
In her new role, James joins Secretariat as the global advisory firm continues to support its growing team of professionals across major commercial and arbitration centers worldwide. Her experience partnering with executive leadership and aligning people priorities with business objectives provides a strong foundation for her new HR leadership responsibilities.
Prior to joining Secretariat, James spent approximately 10 years at Brown & Brown, where she progressed through multiple human resources leadership positions. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Human Resources & Director, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, leading HR for the company’s Risk Solutions business. In this capacity, she partnered with executive leadership on talent strategy, leadership effectiveness and organizational priorities while supporting the evolving needs of the business.
James initially joined Brown & Brown as a Human Resources Generalist in 2016 before advancing to Human Resources Manager and subsequently into her Vice President-level role. Her responsibilities included supporting organizational growth, leadership development, succession planning and complex people-related decisions across a multi-practice environment.
Earlier in her career, James worked as an HR Representative at DHL Supply Chain. She also spent several years with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she held roles spanning customer service and claims. Her progression across operational and HR functions has contributed to a broad understanding of employee experience, business partnership and people leadership.
