Pune, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — Himanshu Gupta has joined KALA Group’s Kala Defence & Aerospace as Business Head & AVP – Ground Systems, bringing extensive engineering and leadership experience across the aerospace, defence and advanced manufacturing sectors.
In his new role, Gupta moves into business leadership after a career deeply rooted in engineering and mission-critical systems. Prior to joining KALA Group, he worked as an Engineering Specialist with an Indian defence research organization, where he led engineering studies for indigenous strategic defence ground-system programs. His work covered concept development, design evaluation and engineering solutions for high-mobility, mission-critical military equipment, including structural, kinematic and stability assessments for heavy mobile platforms and launcher mechanisms.
Gupta previously spent more than 17 years with Eaton Aerospace, progressing through Associate Engineer, Product Engineer and Senior Engineer positions. As Senior Engineer, he provided engineering leadership for global aerospace and defence programs, taking products from concept through qualification and certification. His experience included Environmental Control Systems, RTCA DO-160 qualification, systems engineering and collaboration with global OEMs and cross-functional teams.
During his earlier tenure as Product Engineer at Eaton Aerospace, Gupta worked across value engineering, advanced manufacturing, design optimization, systems engineering, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, GD&T and tolerance analysis for safety-critical aerospace products. According to his professional profile, his initiatives contributed more than $2.6 million in validated cost savings. He also supported engineering-team development, standardized practices and AS9100D compliance.
Earlier, Gupta worked as a Special Tool Designer at TAFE – Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, contributing to production tooling and assembly-line automation. He holds a Master of Science in Manufacturing Management from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. His appointment at KALA Group brings together his experience in aerospace engineering, defence ground systems, product development and technical leadership as he takes on broader business responsibility.
