Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — Marico Limited has promoted Sumedha Sahani to Head – Strategy, expanding her leadership mandate as the company continues to strengthen its long-term growth agenda across India and international markets.
Sumedha has been with Marico for nearly two years and previously served as Chief of Staff to the Managing Director and CEO, where she worked closely on strategic priorities, business planning, executive decision-making, and cross-functional initiatives. Her elevation to Head – Strategy reflects her growing role in shaping enterprise priorities and supporting Marico’s future growth across its beauty, wellness, foods, and consumer businesses.
Prior to joining Marico, Sumedha worked as a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she gained experience across strategic problem-solving, business transformation, and growth-focused advisory engagements. Earlier, she spent more than five years with Reliance Retail, progressing through multiple roles and eventually serving as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Reliance Consumer Products. Her responsibilities spanned business strategy, leadership support, commercial planning, and execution across high-growth consumer businesses.
Sumedha began her career with Unilever as a Management Trainee, gaining hands-on experience across marketing, brand building, innovation, P&L management, sales, and customer marketing. She worked on brands including Surf Excel Matic, contributing to consumer insights, financial business cases, pack design, marketing communication, and portfolio initiatives, while also supporting channel optimization and sales growth programs across India.
She holds a PGDBM in Business Administration and Management from XLRI Jamshedpur, providing a strong academic foundation for her career across strategy, consulting, consumer businesses, and leadership roles.
