Sunny Bhatia Promoted to National Head of Sales at Turtlemint

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — Sunny Bhatia has been promoted to National Head of Sales at Turtlemint, marking an expanded leadership mandate after nearly seven years with the insurance distribution platform. In his new role, Bhatia will focus on scaling the company’s sales organization, deepening its advisor network, expanding into new markets, and strengthening the sales infrastructure supporting Turtlemint’s growth.

Bhatia currently serves as Executive Vice President at Turtlemint, a position he assumed in April 2026. His journey with the company began in 2019 as Director – Sales, followed by successive elevations to Senior Director, Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Executive Vice President. His progression reflects extensive involvement in the growth and development of Turtlemint’s insurance distribution business.

Prior to joining Turtlemint, Bhatia served as Assistant General Manager at Cholamandalam MS General Insurance, following a stint as Associate Segment Head – Automotive Alliances at Reliance General Insurance. He also spent more than six years with SBI General Insurance, where his roles included National Channel Manager – Maruti Relationship, Regional Channel Head – Alternate Channel and Digital for North, Profit Centre Head, and Bancassurance Head.

Earlier in his career, Bhatia held several sales and distribution leadership positions with Cholamandalam MS General Insurance, including Regional Bancassurance Manager, Branch Manager, and Business Development Manager. Across his career of more than two decades in the insurance sector, he has developed experience spanning sales leadership, bancassurance, automotive alliances, agency distribution, digital and alternate channels, branch operations, underwriting, and business development.

Bhatia is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Insurance and Risk Management from Birla Institute of Management Technology. His expanded mandate at Turtlemint comes as the company continues to build its technology-enabled insurance distribution network and broaden access to insurance across India.

Founded in 2015 by Dhirendra Mahyavanshi and Anand Prabhudesai, Turtlemint is an insurance distribution platform that combines technology with an extensive network of certified insurance advisors. According to the company, its network comprises more than 500,000 certified POSPs across 19,000+ pincodes, supported by AI-driven tools, personalized recommendations, and professional training through the Turtlemint Pro app.

Turtlemint provides access to health, life, motor, and business insurance and works with insurance providers to offer customers a digital journey spanning policy discovery, selection, and claims support. The company says it has enabled more than 1.2 crore Indians to access insurance solutions.
