Irvine, California, United States, August 2026 — Greg Kim has joined Sandisk as Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), bringing more than two decades of technology, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure and semiconductor industry experience to the company. His appointment comes as artificial intelligence drives new demands across data infrastructure, memory and storage technologies.
Commenting on the move, Kim highlighted the significance of joining Sandisk during what he described as a major AI paradigm shift, with memory and storage positioned at the center of the transition. As Vice President and CISO, he brings extensive experience in enterprise cybersecurity, technology transformation, AI security, infrastructure modernization, risk management, regulatory compliance and board-level technology governance.
Kim joins Sandisk following a 22-year career with Skyworks Solutions, where he most recently served as Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) alongside his responsibilities as Vice President, Global CISO & IT Operations. As Interim CIO, he led a global technology organization spanning IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, data, AI enablement, factory automation, EDA/HPC and cybersecurity across North America, Asia and Europe. His responsibilities also included technology integration planning, responsible AI adoption, operational technology modernization and advising the Board and Audit Committee on technology and security risks.
His leadership journey at Skyworks included roles as Global CISO – Senior Director, Director of IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security, and Manager of Information Technology. Kim helped build the company’s enterprise cybersecurity function, establishing capabilities across security operations, identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response and data protection. His work also covered Zero Trust, ISO 27001, CMMC 2.0, TISAX, NIST frameworks, GDPR and CCPA, alongside global infrastructure and resiliency programs supporting semiconductor manufacturing and R&D environments.
Before Skyworks, Kim worked with Conexant as Principal Specialist, supporting IT operations within semiconductor design and manufacturing. He also serves as Founding Chapter Chair of SoCalCISO with Inspire Leadership Network, where he supports peer engagement among senior cybersecurity executives and discussions around translating complex cyber risks into business and board-level priorities.
