Denver, Colorado, United States, July 2026 — Vantage Data Centers has appointed David Van Rooy as Vice President, People and Culture, North America, bringing extensive experience in human resources, talent strategy, leadership development, organizational effectiveness and large-scale workforce transformation.
Van Rooy joins Vantage Data Centers after more than six years with Albertsons Companies, where he most recently served as Head of HR, Retail, Supply Chain and Manufacturing. In that position, he held end-to-end HR responsibility across approximately 2,300 stores, distribution centers, manufacturing sites, transportation operations and corporate support teams covering more than 250,000 associates.
During his tenure at Albertsons Companies, Van Rooy also served as Group Vice President HR, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sourcing, leading an HR team supporting a workforce of approximately 15,000 employees. His responsibilities included serving as the HR integration lead for merger and M&A efforts involving Kroger and leading the enterprise talent team. Earlier, as Group Vice President & Chief Talent Officer, he helped shape the company’s broader talent agenda.
Before Albertsons, Van Rooy served as Vice President, Talent Development at Vail Resorts and Vice President, Talent & Organizational Capability at Walmart Canada. At Walmart Canada, he led an end-to-end talent strategy supporting approximately 90,000 associates, with responsibilities encompassing talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, executive coaching, talent technologies, diversity and inclusion, culture and employee engagement.
His career also includes more than six years with Walmart, where he held senior global roles in executive development, talent, international HR strategy and organizational effectiveness. Among his responsibilities were global leadership development, executive succession planning and performance and engagement programmes reaching approximately 2.2 million associates worldwide. Earlier, Van Rooy spent more than five years with Marriott International, working across global HR systems, talent management, assessment, performance management and employee engagement, following earlier roles with Burger King Corporation.
Van Rooy holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Business from Central Michigan University. His background across large, geographically distributed workforces brings experience in aligning talent, organizational capability and people strategy with complex business operations.
