Hyderabad, Telangana, India, August 2026 — Sanofi has appointed Archana Subramanya as Head – R&D India Hub, strengthening the biopharma company’s research and development leadership in India. In her new role, Archana will lead the R&D Hyderabad Hub, with responsibility for establishing team structures and operational frameworks while advancing operational excellence, cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and the expansion of Sanofi’s global R&D capabilities in India.
Archana brings over 25 years of experience spanning global drug development, regulatory affairs, clinical development, clinical project management, clinical data management, and global capability center leadership. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in building and scaling global organizations, leading transformation initiatives, strengthening operating models, and developing high-performing teams supporting complex pharmaceutical and R&D environments.
Prior to joining Sanofi, Archana served as Head of Global Regulatory Centers at GSK, where she led and expanded regulatory capability centers across India, Poland, Egypt, and Mexico. In this leadership role, she was responsible for strengthening global regulatory operations and capabilities while driving enterprise-wide transformation and developing global teams to support the organization’s regulatory agenda.
Her broader professional experience across drug development, clinical functions, regulatory affairs, and global capability leadership gives her a multidisciplinary perspective on the pharmaceutical R&D ecosystem. Her appointment at Sanofi comes as the company continues to strengthen its R&D capabilities and leverage its India hub to support innovation and global research operations.
Archana completed the Executive General Management Program at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, covering areas including organizational structures, strategy, operations management, finance, marketing, and human resource management. She also holds an MSc in Applied Genetics from Bangalore University.
