Hyderabad, Telangana, India, August 2026 — Deepak Sapra has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gland Pharma Limited, effective November 16, 2026. Bringing more than two decades of pharmaceutical and business leadership experience, Sapra takes the helm of the organization following an extensive career spanning APIs, pharmaceutical services, global generics, business development, portfolio management, commercial operations, and supply chain.
Prior to joining Gland Pharma, Sapra spent more than 23 years with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, most recently serving as CEO – API and Services. During his long tenure with the pharmaceutical company, he held several senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President and Global Business Head, Vice President and Global Business Head – Custom Pharmaceutical Services, and Vice President and Head of Global Generics Business Development.
His career at Dr. Reddy’s also included leadership responsibilities across global generics portfolio management, sales and marketing, international markets, and supply chain management. He led commercial responsibilities across regions including Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, giving him broad exposure to international pharmaceutical markets and business operations. Sapra has also served as a Board Member of Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Limited, a CDMO and discovery services organization.
Before entering the pharmaceutical industry, Sapra served with Indian Railways from 1997 to 2003 as part of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers. His responsibilities included operations and maintenance for locomotives, wagons and crew, along with assignments at Eastern Railway headquarters.
Sapra is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, where he completed the Post Graduate Program in Management, and was a Fulbright Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University in 2011. His appointment represents a significant leadership transition for Gland Pharma as the company continues to develop its global injectables and pharmaceutical manufacturing business.
